First Day of School Tomorrow!

Jaylie goes to her first day of Kindergarten tomorrow! She is beyond excited!! She has been talking about it non stop. Last week was spring break but the week before that Jaylie and I went up to her school to have her meet her teacher and kids in her class. One of the Child Life Specialists from the hospital came and did a wonderful presentation for Jaylies class and the class that is next to hers. She explained Jaylies cancer, her port (which Jaylie willingly showed them all), why she doesn't have hair, etc. It went really well and the kids were all very nice to her. The girls huddled around her and were excited to show her around the room and where her locker was. One of the girls gave Jaylie a little gift too. It was so sweet and Jaylie felt so special. I guess this little girl had been keeping it in her locker, waiting for Jaylie to come :) Jaylie had a great time up at the school and it made her even more excited. Her teacher seems wonderful and is so nice, which we are so thankful for. I am nervous for tomorrow, but am excited too. I hope she doesn't get too exhausted. She still doesn't have the same level of energy as  the other kids and from what I hear, they were all super tired when they first started. Hopefully she will be ok. I am not too worried about the kids making fun of her or anything. She doesn't mind people staring at her and she is very comfortable talking about her cancer experience and telling kids why she doesn't have hair. She is such an amazing little thing! Oh, she has her clothes picked out for the whole week pretty much too :) She is so funny!

Jaylie has been off treatment about a month and a half now and her hair is starting to grow! Her eyelashes are almost all the way in and her hair is back all over her body again. The hair on her head is growing slowly and looks like it might come in brown. She is quite excited!

We had Jaylies end of treatment party a couple weeks ago which was amazing!!! I'm working on uploading all the pictures, so be expecting that post soon. I have like 4 posts started and half finished, I have every intention to catch up on my blogging but something always comes up. We've been busy and have been having lots of fun as a family lately which i am grateful for. Its crazy that she will be at school all the time now. I am kind of sad that she won't be home with me all day anymore, I know I am going to miss her like crazy!! I am also sooo thankful that she is able to go to school and is doing so well. I almost feel guilty because there are so many kids out there who are not doing well. My heart just breaks for them and all the other parents of children with cancer, especially those who have relapsed or passed away. Please keep all of the little cancer warriors in your prayers, so many need them. Please pray for our friend Hayden. She is a little younger than Jaylie and was the first child we met after Jaylies diagnosis who had a brain tumor also. She finished treatment in December and her cancer has come back already. I know I have said it so many times, but thank you everyone for your support and continued support for our family and little Jaylie. We are enjoying our time with her. Her next scan will be around the first of May, after our Make a Wish trip. Its crazy how we live our life in 3 month increments now. I am already more nervous for this scan than I have ever been. It seems like all I have been hearing about are relapses. I just try to push it out of my mind and stay positive. I am so grateful for my loving Heavenly Father who always comforts me when I need it. I don't know what I would do without my faith in Him. I know He has a plan and that it is always the best plan, even though it is sometimes hard for us to see that.

If you click on the picture you can see her hair and eyelashes :)
