Wilco community helps raise thousands

AUSTIN (KXAN) - At just five years old, Jaylie Nielson has fought a tough fight. In May, she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer. Jaylie complained of seeing double vision and that’s when her mother Kajsa knew something was wrong and immediately took her to the doctor.
“I thought it was just going to be glasses and maybe eye surgery,” says Jaylie’s Dad, Kip. “But hearing that news changes your whole life.”
Jaylie is now enduring radiation and chemotherapy treatments and has been for the past six weeks.
Now Jaylie’s community is rallying around her and her family raising money to help pay mounting medical bills. Friends are hosting a 5k Fun Run , Saturday August 13, 2011 at the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park in Leander.

Our beautiful little girl Jaylie (5years old) was having some vision problems and what we thought would be a quick trip to the opthalmologist and possibly getting glasses, turned into a visit at the ER learning she had a brain tumor. Jaylie had brain surgery to remove the large tumor on April 28th 2011. She was diagnosed on May 3rd with Supratentorial Premitive Neuroectodermal Tumor or sPNET. It is a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, in which she had to undergo surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Jaylie is doing well and all her scans since completing treatment have showed no sign of cancer! We thank you for all your prayers, support, and love. Please keep praying with us that she will always remain cancer free!
